If you've ever wondered exactly what hypnosis is and how it works, you're not the only one. I was such a skeptic initially - influenced by watching too many Hollywood movies!

What is Hypnosis?

Simply put, hypnosis is simply a state of deep relaxation. We call it a trance-state, when your mind is calm and your unconscious mind is open to receiving communication. 

Trance-like experiences are actually quite common. Think about the last time you zoned out while watching a movie. The advertisements start running and you decide to close your eyes, just for a moment. You sit there, in a dreamlike state, listening to the advertisement messaging jingles, completely unaware that all of it is being stored in your unconscious mind. A few days later, you hear that familiar jingle - and just like that! You have a sudden craving for a burger and chips. 

True hypnosis is similar. However, instead of embedding commands that you should buy greasy food for dinner tonight, we work together on formulating positive commands and beliefs that the unconscious mind can download - ready to be called upon when needed. 

My own results with hypnosis have been profound. Now free of anxiety, fear and limiting beliefs, the energy in my body feels light. The food addictions stopped. Digestion improved, belief in myself sky rocketed and I wake up feeling vibrant and energetic every single day - the way I believe everyone should.

What happens in a Hypnosis Session?

Before entering into the state of relaxation, we will first talk through where you feel you are stuck or struggling, and what you want to change. Getting to the root cause of what is causing the issue and letting go of that first helps to free up a lot of energy repressed energy. When we clear space in your unconscious mind, the hypnosis will work much more effectively to embed the new beliefs and the new patterns.

Just think of your subconscious as a giant warehouse filled with every single thing that is not currently in your conscious mind: all of your memories, hopes, dreams, skills, every situation you have ever been through along with every image you have ever seen is stored here. We create meanings based on our experiences.

Using NLP style coaching to help understand and let go of what some of your limiting beliefs and heavy emotions are helps prepare your unconscious mind to receive the new information - and more importantly, helps it to STICK. 

What is NLP in a Hypnosis Session?

Neuro-Linguistic Programming is a specific style of coaching that helps to change someone’s thoughts and behaviours from what they don't want to what they do want. NLP is a technique to make it easier for people to make positive changes in their lives - which is why I use this first before entering the hypnotic state. 

Hypnosis is very effective in reversing unhealthy eating patterns and food addictions, improve long term weight loss, and reverse other addictions such as smoking.
